Scope of Responsibility:
The Lead inspector is responsible to ensure that all parts, sections and/or poles meet standards set forth by design requirements. The Lead Inspector is also responsible for directing and assigning the daily duties of all Quality Control Inspectors with the supervision of the QC Manager.
Essential Duties:
Serves as a “Working Lead Person”Must be able to perform all inspection functions except nondestructive testing. (Able to take over inspectors activities).Communicate instructions from management in a detailed manner on a daily basis.Responsible for training and development of all inspectors.Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed.Responsible for holding safety and all other meetings with team members in order to communicate important information at the beginning of each shift.Keep pass down log accurate.Ensure that all inspectors are complying with Sabre Tubular Structures safety standards. Able to assume responsibilities of the QC supervisor when needed.Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.Regular and on-time attendance.Work in your shift as scheduled.Must work well with others.Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Regular and timely attendance is requiredHigh School/GED preferred but not required.One year in Quality Control or related field. Welding background a plus.Be able to read and interpret blueprintsBe able to accurately verify all parts to print using a tape measure.Responsible for training personnel as neededPossess effective communication skills to motivate and direct employeesMust be able to read and write in EnglishIntermediate computer skills with experience in MS Office
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materialsMust be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekendsPosition requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individualMust be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperaturesMust have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
