Quality Control Outgoing Inspector (LSI-NH) Astronics Subsidiary Location Description **SUMMARY** Inspects electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, components, and parts for conformance to specifications by performing the following duties. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties and responsibilities. + Examines and tests assemblies in a darkroom for compliance to illumination regulations. + Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors. + Return material analysis. + Compares assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware. + Examines soldering, both in process and in final, to determine acceptability per specifications. + Examines alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions. + Traces cables and harness assemblies, following cable-wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards. + Perform First Article Inspections and first piece inspections. + Examines parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, and pinholes. + Examines production documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps are according to specifications. + Records inspection data such as serial number, type and number of defects, and generates a non-conformance report for review by the MRB group. + Precise completion of documentation. + Review purchase orders to determine compliance of documents. + Calibration of measuring gauges and tools owned and used within the company. **QUALIFICATIONS:** The successful candidate will be able to display proficiency in the below tasks, as well as be expected to gain and excel in a variety of processes and procedures. + Ability to focus on the task at hand and pay attention to details + Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively and professionally interact with others in a manufacturing environment + Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea + Read, learn, understand and interpret safety rules, work instructions, blueprints, compliance documents, etc. + Background check and pre-employment drug test required. **REQUIREMENTS:** + Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE** + High school diploma or equivalent education + Good overall computer skills, MS Office and e-mail programs + 1-3 years’ experience of inspection of electronic assemblies **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
