Scope of Responsibility:
The Quality Control Manager for the facility will be responsible for guiding the Site Quality Control Department towards growth into operational excellence by: Cultivating the Quality Control staff, Adding to existing Quality Control staff as needed, Establishing and maintaining a gainful partnership with production while level setting a level of expectations of Acceptable Quality by encouraging responsibility/accountability, and lastly monitor and report on the ongoing COPQ throughout the year. In short, the Site Quality Control Manager will lead by example based on experience.
Essential Duties:
Develop and maintain systems to establish standards related to Quality Control activities and products, and measures performance against established standards. Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.Analyze and write test procedures; maintain documentation of results; and consult with Department Directors and other personnel in resolution of problems.Directs employees engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.Plan and organize daily activities of the QC Inspectors plant wide on all shifts, and assure the tests are performed in accordance with the Company’s and Customer’s standards and specifications.Effectively communicate and resolve issues arising out of the production processes, as related to quality, across all levels of the organization.Maintain all project related inspection documentation and monitor adherence to standards and actively checks for accuracy of data received or generated before passing it on.Ensures that the Sabre Industries Quality Manual for both Utility & Wireless product is properly written and maintained.Maintain the NCR database which contains information for the facility. Lead the effort in providing timely, accurate, and effective Root Cause Analysis, Corrective, and Preventive measures. Audit and report the effectiveness of Preventive measures to management. Work closely with production, scheduling, project management, and quality management to routinely generate SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) reports for customer and management review.Maintain AISC accreditation, prepare, plan and host annual AISC Audits.Plan, perform, and host internal and customer driven facility audits as required.Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively.Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.Ensures that the Company and Employees maintain appropriate certifications.Promote and acts upon employees’ ideas for improvements in areas of quality, safety and work environment.Coordinate special quality projects/studies.Other duties as directed by management.Regular and on-time attendance.Work in your shift as scheduled.Getting along with coworkers.
Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and a minimum of 4 years of successful quality management in steel fabrication.
Experience: Current or previous certification as an AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI). Current or previous ASNT SNT-TC-1A for Level II Certification in Ultrasonic and Magnetic Particle inspection methods and be familiar with non-destructive testing methods. ISO or AISC Audit or certification experience. Prior experience in the Tower and Pole industry highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate tools or equipment.Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
