Quality Control Supervisor

Role description: 

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for supervising the quality functions and personnel to ensure compliance with customer requirements and company specifications.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Assist and serve as back-up to the Quality Control Manager as directed 

Interpret quality specifications and communicate to all applicable departments 

Maintain all pertinent records to adequately monitor quality performance and standards  

Review customer complaints with plant department to ensure corrective action measures are applied to prevent reoccurrence 

Supervise ware audits and report findings along with recommended corrective action plans.  

Interact with customers and customer service representative to solve problems and foster strong customer relations 

Oversee quality lab equipment calibrations and maintenance 

Manage lab supply inventory and ordering 

Manage the measuring of glass containers and provide reports 

Perform activities necessary for the effective management of the quality department by training and developing unionized workforce 

Establish and maintain a safe, sustainable, and healthy work environment 

Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities 

 

Minimum skills / qualifications:  

High School Diploma or equivalent 

Three years of experience in manufacturing quality 

Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment 

Must have excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to interact effectively with management and outside customers 

Must have excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills 

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite  

 

Preferred skills / qualifications:  

Undergraduate degree in math, engineering, or a related discipline 

Two years of experience leading in a manufacturing environment 

Prior experience working with SAP ERP 

Prior experience working with a quality management system 

Prior experience working in the glass container manufacturing environment 

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
