Quality Control Supervisor, Timmins, Ontario

When you join our team as a Quality Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of sawmill and planer quality
control including optimizers, change overs, simulations, forecasting, and other
continuous improvement activities.

What You’ll Do

Supervise all aspects of the site wide quality control program, which includes the sawmill and planer. Maintain and utilize all optimization systems to maximize lumber values, grade, and recovery. Monitor kiln performance. Identify and leverage opportunities to improve sawmill and planer quality management. Ensure all sawmill and planer quality control documentation is current. Work closely with sawmill and planer production staff to maximize return to log. Report on site-wide quality control activities.

What You Offer

Post-secondary education (minimum high school diploma). Minimum of 2 years of sawmill/planer QC experience. Knowledge and experience within lumber manufacturing and sawmill operations Lumber grading ticket and familiarization with optimization is an asset. Understanding and using statistical analysis process. Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and organizational skills. Proven leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Detail and results oriented. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Very proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
