**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Operations Manager for Vancouver Asphalt and Pave, you will be responsible for
carrying out daily record keeping, asphalt sampling and performing regular quality controls review. You will be exposed to all operations related to Quality Control and are therefore expected to take on greater responsibilities as you develop within this position.
**WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Ensure a safe workplace by maintaining and enforcing health, safety, and environmental policies, demonstrating a visible commitment to safety objectives.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure all duties are performed safely.
+ Conduct testing of asphalt and aggregate materials to ensure product quality meets specifications.
+ Monitor asphalt placement and collaborate with customers on-site to ensure product adherence to required standards.Evaluate material properties and troubleshoot issues on project sites and plants, including field investigations.
+ Optimize asphalt production procedures and analyze/design asphalt mix designs for improved performance.
+ Provide technical service and sales support to customers, resolving product-related problems and maximizing profitability.
+ Maintain ongoing communication with plants, suppliers, and customers, professionally reporting on product performance and assisting with long-term product development and problem resolution.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
**Education:** High School Diploma or Equivalent
**Additional Education Preferred:** Completion of Certified Engineering Technician program
**Required Work Experience:** 2 – 3 years related experience would be considered an asset.
**Required Training/Certifications:** Valid BC Drivers License is required along with a reliable means of transportation
**Required Technical Skills:** Strong computer knowledge (Ex: Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access).
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Positive, responsible individual capable of working effectively with limited supervision
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
+ Team player with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.
+ Able/willing to perform physical work in a construction environment.
+ High attention to detail is required.
+ Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
+ Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
