Quality Control Technician

About the Role:

Are you a detail-oriented individual passionate about quality and safety? We’re on the lookout for a reliable Quality Control Technician to enhance our dynamic team! In this crucial role, you will collaborate with the Sheeter Operator and fellow team members, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our products from start to finish. You'll play a key part in maintaining a clean, organized work environment, all while adhering to our safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with the Sheeter Operator and team members as needed.Accurately verify and maintain records for all incoming and outgoing products.Carry out tasks with a strong focus on safety, following established work procedures.Uphold housekeeping standards, ensuring that your workspace and equipment are pristine and hazard-free.Adhere to all safety regulations and properly utilize required safety gear.Collect representative samples from incoming materials, start-ups, and end-of-rolls.Perform thorough tests on samples, documenting results against our quality specifications.Conduct and record in-process tests like caliper, smoothness, and gloss assessments.Identify trends and variances in test results and promptly communicate any concerns to your supervisor.Calibrate QC equipment and manage sample handling appropriately.

Essential Skills:

Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.Strong teamwork skills, along with the capacity to work independently.A solid understanding of product quality requirements and the role you play in achieving them.Basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Competence in using measurement units for weight and volume.Familiarity with basic computer operations and concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of related experience or training preferred.Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as required.

Work Environment:

This position has openings for both 2nd shift (3 PM - 11 PM) and 3rd shift (11 PM - 7 AM). You will be working in an environment with moving mechanical parts and some exposure to electrical risks, fumes, and loud noise levels. Safety training on hazardous waste management will be provided annually for compliance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
