The Quality Control position is responsible for sampling and running tests on the product to ensure that it meets customer specifications. **Essential Job Functions** + Performs tests on product from the oven, packing line, blower trucks and railcars. + Records information in Total Lab Client Program (TLC) + Inspects product on start-ups, shutdowns and during problems at extruders. + Inspects oven leg magnet + Inspects and records in TLC any magnet samples or flour samples turned in by employees. + Prepares textured vegetable protein (TVP) formulation reports and sterile sample bags + Completes lab dailies from checklist + Follows all safety, GMP, plant rules and policies + Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Plant Manager **Education/Training** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. + Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. + Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
