This is a full time, non-exempt position.
 
The Quality Control position is responsible for sampling and running tests on the product to ensure that it meets customer specifications.
 
Essential Job FunctionsPerforms tests on product from the oven, packing line, blower trucks and railcars.Records information in Total Lab Client Program (TLC)Inspects product on start-ups, shutdowns and during problems at extruders.Inspects oven leg magnetInspects and records in TLC any magnet samples or flour samples turned in by employees.Prepares textured vegetable protein (TVP) formulation reports and sterile sample bagsCompletes lab dailies from checklistFollows all safety, GMP, plant rules and policiesOther duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Plant ManagerEducation/TrainingHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Experience:On the job training is provided.Excited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
