Quality Control Technician III

Job Summary:

Summary

Ensure conformance of all products to specification and compliance to all aspects of the plant’s Quality Systems.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Maintains quality data collection and reporting.Track COAs and audit incoming raw materials for conformance to specifications.Audit products and processes as assigned.Assist with plant trials, studies, and the design of experiments including generating reports.Performs raw material, in-process, and finished product testing per approved test methods and at prescribed frequencies.Assist the production department in troubleshooting process issues affecting finished product quality/internal scrap issues.Perform calibrations on necessary lab equipment according to the frequency established.Order supplies and maintain lab housekeeping.Utilizes various computer database systems and statistical programs to retrieve historical data used for evaluating product/process consistency.Comply with all plant safety procedures and policies including all PPE requirements.

An Associate degree coupled with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.Availability to work the overnight shift.

Reasoning Ability: to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to solve problems involving a few concrete functions of this job.A Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering coupled with 2+ years of demonstrated experience as a lab technician in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
