Quality Ctrl Inspector
Under general supervision, observes, oversees and audits the manufacture of parts, part assemblies and completed units using blueprints, engineering drawings, manufacturer's specifications, critical to quality (CTQ) sheets and precision measuring equipment to ensure quality products. Experience in automotive ( large truck) chassis inspection Experience in Hydraulic line routing inspection/troubleshooting Experience in Electrical /wiring inspection troubleshooting Experience in working in a complex build with multiple variations (options) of each build Experience in best manufacturing practices, identifying and implementing Experience with Lean project leadership. Ability to obtain Class B CDL endorsement within 6 months of hire date Experience in working in a ISO 9001:20015 environment Certified internal Auditor (preferred) Large Truck mechanic certification/experience. (preferred) ASQ Certified Quality Technician/ Inspector (preferred) Audits work in process as required in Fabrication, Machining, Welding, Painting, and Assembly Departments to ensure production of quality products. Uses CTQ sheet, blueprints, engineering drawings, and any precision measuring equipment to ensure completed parts and or assemblies meet specifications. Coordinates with appropriate management if defective parts and or assemblies can be reworked to fit specifications or should be scrapped. Initiates reject tickets and processes all rejects in a timely manner in accordance with reject procedures. Responsible for performance testing and inspection of completed products on public highways and completes discrepancy reports. Helps with problem solving and troubleshooting as it applies to the quality control functions. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Provide manufacturing floor support on a daily basis to ensure in-process work meets standard or specifications. Initiate and implement manufacturing improvements and or design changes that help eliminate product defects Able to read blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and other technical instructions. Able to use precision measuring equipment including tape measure, square, calipers, gauges and micrometers. Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Computer data entry and retrieval skills with Microsoft and JDE knowledge preferred. Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record according to the point system as established for the Alamo Group liability insurance. Must be able to obtain a Class "B"CDL license with air brakes required. High School diploma or GED certificate required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including forming (fabrication), welding, machining, painting, and or assembling practices required.
