JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Quality Engagement Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Engagement Specialist is primarily responsible for the collection and submission of accurate medical records to close quality gaps in care. The Quality Engagement Specialist works with the Quality Program Coordinator and the Manager of Managed Care Contracting to support programs related to quality improvement and performance. This Position requires attention to detail, ability to work both independently and within a team, and strong communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Review insurance rosters by physician at beginning of each year, and triage appropriate office staff to schedule patients as appropriate.
+ Contact new patients attributed to PMG based off insurances to establish care.
+ Participates in data validation for EHR reports as required.
+ Frequently review gaps in care reports to ensure measures are completed and insurances have appropriate documentation on file.
+ Investigate and obtain necessary imaging, lab results and consultations from outside facilities.
+ Attend PCF/Quality meetings regularly and adjust workflow to ensure compliance as needed.
+ On a monthly or bi-monthly basis meet with the Practice Director and the PCF/Quality team to discuss insurance gaps in care, assist where to focus attention, and to bring any pertinent information back to the administrative team.
+ Assist the Sr. Quality Engagement Specialist with HEDIS /QUARR/CMS Star retro medical records requests for Internal Medicine Division. Collects records in EMR and submits them to the insurance carriers according to their specific requirements.
+ Tracks insurance forms that are sent to providers and the return rate.
+ Reports on trends or barriers faced when working to close gaps in care.
+ Assists with any future quality or incentive programs.
+ Assist with Patient Experience data collection, analysis and projects.
+ Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
+ Minimum of a High School diploma; Associate degree preferred.
+ 1 to 2 years relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
+ Electronic Medical Records experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
+ Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate notes and records.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding and commitment to delivery of patient-centered medical care with a team-based approach.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Must have excellent computer skills.
+ Must have intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively on assigned tasks and projects.
SCHEDULE/HOURS:
+ Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM
+ Hybrid Schedule
