We are looking for you to join our team as a Quality Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA supporting our Launcher Systems Programs.
What you will get to do:
The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies
This position may be filled at the Principal (Level 3) or Sr. Principal (Level 4) level, depending on experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer Quality :
Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering role (or a master’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience).Experience engaging with manufacturing and QC personnel on the shop floor to provide solutionsExperience with standard Visual and Mechanical Inspection techniques and toolsExperience in root cause analysis and corrective actionAbility to travel, up to 25%Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceUS Citizenship required

Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering role (or a master’s degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience).Experience engaging with manufacturing and QC personnel on the shop floor to provide solutionsExperience with standard Visual and Mechanical Inspection techniques and toolsExperience in root cause analysis and corrective actionAbility to travel, up to 25%Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearanceUS Citizenship requiredPreferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System EnvironmentExperience with standard non-destructive testing techniques and tools in a fabrication, machining, and assembly environment. Experience with Earned Value Management.Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.Experience conducting or managing internal auditsExperience working on DOD contracts and on Supplier Quality efforts
Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
