Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Engineer with strong experience in manufacturing environments. This role supports organizational quality initiatives across customer programs and supplier engagements. The ideal candidate will lead quality assurance efforts, drive process improvements, and manage root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities, including non-conformance investigations and implementation of effective solutions.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure quality assurance for assigned programs from proposal through final delivery, ensuring compliance with customer expectations and internal cost and schedule goals.Actively contribute to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and lead Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).Coordinate and host external quality audits and participate in internal audit processes.Serve as a liaison between the organization and suppliers/customers regarding quality requirements.Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems and assurance programs.Establish and monitor quality metrics for supplier performance.Issue and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and internal Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs).Provide guidance on interpreting quality standards and regulatory requirements.Analyze product and process reliability to recommend improvements.Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality is embedded in product development and readiness.Track and follow up on supplier audit action plans to ensure timely and accurate resolution.Lead quality efforts in production, including materials, processes, assemblies, and returned product analysis (RMA).Essential SkillsProficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis.Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems.Experience in supplier quality assurance and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science or engineering discipline, preferably with a focus on electro-mechanical systems.Experience with precision machining and assembly operations.Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and ERP/MRP systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Microsoft Project.Work Environment
This position operates in a dynamic manufacturing environment, often requiring collaboration across various teams and external partners. The role involves occasional travel to supplier sites and customer locations to oversee quality audits and ensure compliance with established standards
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.08 - $62.50/hr.
