Summary:
As a Quality Engineer at Microwave Products Group – Pole/Zero Corporation in West Chester, OH, you will support the military community by maintaining responsibility for verifying conformance to specified requirements and assisting the appropriate departments in determining root cause and corrective action when product and/or process is nonconforming.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze defect data and establish trend charts for review by management Assist inspectors in determining defects, component information, process indicators, etc. Acts as a referee to verify conformance Recommend alternate inspection techniques and inspection equipment to facilitate more reliable inspections Attend daily production meetings to support any quality related issues that need to be addressed Participate in design reviews in order to determine if the product being designed can be manufactured and to ensure that quality is designed and built into the product Supports the engineering and manufacturing group with material and process issues Modify and update Quality department work instructions and procedures Reviews and approves manufacturing build instructions to ensure compliance to design requirements Performs internal process and product audit to ensure conformance to specified requirements and to the Quality Management System Responsible for in process Material Review Board, which includes the processing of nonconforming material Assists the Manufacturing Engineering group in determining root cause of the in-process defects Develop and implement inspection plans Interface with the customer and suppliers on quality related issues Review and approve engineering drawings, which includes participating in design reviews Member of the CCB (Change Control Board); approves Engineering Change Notices Chair and coordinate Quality Focus Groups, by ensuring that the tasks that have been identified are being completed in a timely Involvement in general quality initiatives Work with inspectors and supervisors to ensure that the product being built conforms to specified requirements Assist QA, engineering and/or production in determining the root cause and corrective action of customer returns Participates in product and process qualification, and/or where ever decisions are made that may affect product quality Initiates and recommends the issuance of Corrective Action Requests when product and or process nonconformance is found Initiate and manage Quality Alerts Drive quality philosophies and new techniques into production and facilitate the training and understanding of general quality concepts, such as everyone is responsible for quality
Knowledge, skills and abilities strongly preferred include:
Must have a thorough understanding of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 Must be able to communicate effectively with other departments, including manufacturing, engineering and management Must be able to communicate effectively with the customer, both in verbal and written formats High proficiency in Excel Must have the ability to analyze data to formulate quality and reliability decisions Experience on Material Review Board as participant and/or chairperson a plus
Requirements Include:
Must be a US person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident - Green Card Holder) High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university and 5 + years of electronics manufacturing experience; An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered ASQ certification and 5 + years of electronics manufacturing experience 5 + years of technical electronics related work experience AS9100 or ISO9000 experience required
