Filtran is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality products and processes. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that our products and services meet or exceed our customers' expectations for quality, reliability, and performance. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the production team to identify and resolve any quality issues that arise during the manufacturing process. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will collaborate with the suppliers to ensure successful new program launches and manage their performance. We are looking for a dynamic candidate responsible for driving quality initiatives within our supply chain and internal manufacturing operations.
ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:
Possesses strong hands-on experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective & preventive actions for customer and supplier related issues, using core tools like 8D, 5 Why, FMEA and Ishikawa.Ensures quality deliverables are met throughout APQP and new program launch phasesMaintains audit schedules to conduct on-site QMS (ISO 9001/IATF 16949) and layered process audits, as well as supplier assessments, to verify adherence to quality standards.Perform inspections of warranty returns for root cause and failure analysis reports to customersHands-on experience developing and maintaining quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, PFMEA and control plans.Manage supplier performance by developing scorecards/ metrics and improvement plans for achieving 100% quality.Collaborate with procurement to qualify new suppliers and manage supplier performance.Oversees Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition of parts on holdLead quality improvement projects to reduce defects and cost of poor quality (scrap, rework, and warranty)Train production personnel on quality standards and proceduresExperience managing customer communications including issue resolution and relationship building.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related fieldExperience in Quality Engineering or related engineering field Solid knowledge & understanding of metrology and GD&T Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Data Analysis using Minitab or similar.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience using MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) Able to travel (domestic) 5% - 10%What Will Put You Ahead
5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the automotive industryIn-depth understanding of injection molding processes and equipmentStrong knowledge of quality management systems and AIAG core tools (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 14001, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).Currently a Quality Engineer at a manufacturer of industrial and automotive electromechanical assembliesProven experience in supplier quality management and developmentExcellent problem-solving skills (8D, Fishbone, 3x5 why)ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Lean Six Sigma or higherBilingual: English/Spanish QualificationsMore About Filtration Group
