Quality Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes Conducts and performs GRR and capability studies Working understanding of ISO 9001:2015 preferred Develop and conduct process failure modes effects analysis (PFMEA) plans Experience with PPAP activities for internal and intra-company supplied parts including Component Risk Assessments, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Validation, interact with Supplier Development Engineers for purchased components. Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.

 

EDUCATION:   Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is highly desired

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees comprised of various levels of personnel, from senior executives to facility personnel Strong planning and organizational skills Strong leadership and influencing skills Strong understanding of lean process methodologies Intermediate level of computer skills in SAP and MS Office software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) ASQ-CQE Certification Preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate will be required to work in an industrial environment, which may contain hazards such as: loud noise (ear protection must be worn); air-borne dust, exposure to hazards (pinch points, rotating machinery, sharp edges, conveyors, etc.) and wear all required personal protective equipment.
