About the role

The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards. This position involves developing and implementing quality assurance processes and our Quality Management System (QMS), collaborating with sourcing, engineering and production teams as well as our supply chain, to maintain and improve product quality.

The QA Engineer reports into the Quality Manager, sharing responsibilities with other QA members.

Responsibilities will include

Ensuring that the business adheres to the defined Quality Management System processes, work instructions, standards and policies through internal auditing.Ensuring the safety of the delivered products through safety audits and inspections, and ensuring that any product hazards are promptly addressed.Maintaining metrics and KPI dashboards, measuring and reporting on our own internal operational and process performance and that of our suppliers against agreed targets.Ensuring that inspections, reviews and testing is held against appropriate criteria, with their results logged and resulting actions tracked and managed. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards including ISO 9001.Updating and managing the QMS, improving the processes and work instructions through continual improvement and lessons learnt in conjunction with the process owners to ensure they are efficient, safe, and improve product reliability and performance.Problem Solving and Root Cause AnalysisCapture, investigate and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, working with cross-functional teams on quality-related problems.Supplier Quality ManagementSupporting the evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers, and monitoring their performance.Visiting supplier premises to assess first articles to ensure compliance to appropriate standards and requirements and to support product buy-offs or quality investigationsEstablishing regular communication with internal functions, external suppliers and Customers.

What you’ll bring

The role of Quality Assurance Manager requires the following experience and skills:

Qualifications and experience in manufacturing, production, quality or an engineering discipline to at least HND qualified or equivalent. Graduate degree in relevant field is preferableMinimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance, ideally in manufacturing.Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system standardAn aptitude for problem-solving and use of Quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto etc. Experience in internal auditing Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work within a programme team and engage with other functionsPrepared to challenge constructively and raise issues and concerns that need addressingWillingness to work flexible hours to support the programme, including ability to work away from home to support short duration trips if required (1-5 days typically)Experience/knowledge of SAP, JIRA and Power BI
