Quality Engineer
Responsibilities:
+ Provides facilitation and support to the QA functions within the company.
+ Perform process audits of manufacturing lines. Analyzing quality trends. Investigate and identify underlying issues, including raw materials, process parameters, operator actions, etc.
+ Utilize practical application of formal problem solving tools to develop and implement necessary changes to the manufacturing process in partnership with engineers and operators
+ Applies statistical techniques to improve the interpretation and use of data, thereby improving processes and creating/updating material specifications
+ Collaborate with operations to develop and implement broader controls, systems, and improvements at a site level
+ Participates as QA lead on new product development teams as needed
+ Support R&D trials of new/alternate process materials, material suppliers or process parameters.
+ Interacts with new product/process development to quantify process variability on products and processes.
+ Supports implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to achieve quality objectives/metrics and improved product/process quality.
+ Help facilitate and address customer complaints. Focuses on quick response and issue prevention including direct communication and resolution with customers.
+ As needed, conducts training sessions aimed at improving employee's base understanding of customer requirements, product quality issues and enhancing problem solving skills.
+ Other duties as required to support the Operation.
Qualifications/ Experience:
+ B.S. in engineering or technical discipline
+ Well versed in automotive QA methodology including PPAP's, APQP, FMEA's, Control Plans
+ Minimum of two years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role
+ Strong communication skills (written, verbal)
+ Knowledge and previous usage of statistical software (ie, Minitab)
+ Exemplar of attention to detail
Compensation:
+ $70,000 - $90,000
+ Compensation offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
