Quality Engineer

Our Evansville, Indiana location is looking to add a Quality Engineer to our team! This position will be responsible for improving product quality in one or more value streams by working with Design, Operations, and other functions to identify sources of variation and defects and develop preventative controls and by leading the development and implementation of quality processes. The Quality Engineer will work collaboratively to improve production efficiency and bottom-line results through participation in manufacturing improvement projects and to ensure products meet all internal and customer specifications.

Essential Functions:

Lead cross-functional problem-solving including Engineering and Manufacturing by using disciplined methods such as A3's and 8D's.Coach and mentor production personnel in the usage of problem-solving and core quality tools.Serve as a core member of product development teams to design in quality controls, error-proofing, and reliance on data-based decision-making.Develop and define process control requirements and measurement systems; create and improve control plans.Work closely with Operations personnel, auditing processes and ensuring compliance to defined methods and standards; monitor and track process performance.Perform occasional inspection of material and parts. Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing factory environment Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D or A3, is required Experience with quality planning tools such as PFMEA’s is required Other: Working knowledge of Metrology is required Demonstrated statistical analysis skills, such as Six Sigma Black Belt certification, is preferred Experience with quality systems such as ISO9001 is preferredHands-on collaborative approach with plant floor operations team with patience to train and coach a teamResults oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibilityExperience working in a Lean environment is a plus, with demonstrated Continuous Improvement skillsWorking knowledge of GD&T
