Job Summary:

Responsible for Reliability/Quality Engineering activities supporting the manufacture of Teledyne FLIR infrared detectors

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Contributes to product development as a sustaining team member supporting Teledyne FLIR’s Product Lifecycle ManagementChairs and administrates the Detector Change Review BoardConducts product and process qualification planning, testing, and reporting for new designs and processesResponsible for fielded reliability metrics and reporting and root cause analysis of field failuresFacilitates Supplier, Customer and component qualificationCoordinates containment and corrective action for non-conforming material.Acts as primary Quality and Reliability Representative with suppliers and customersLeads regular quality status, audits and improvement activitiesConducts Failure/Trend Analysis and Analytical Problem Solving and recommends and implements corrective actionsGenerates quality procedures and work instructions as neededTravels as required to suppliers, customers and/or outside labs as neededStrong cross-functional activities with Systems Engineering, Customer Service, Production, Process/Manufacturing Engineering, Customers, Suppliers, Executive Leadership

Job Qualifications:

Collaboration & Teamwork is necessary establish good working relationships with product team and when working with other product teamsStrong Communication Skills are necessary when creating proposals and communicating in writing, in such a manner, that it is easy to understand and interpret what and why information is being communicated.  Listens attentively without interrupting and/or being distracted by other thingsDisplaying strong personal Initiative and motivation is vital to achieve desired performance results with projects that support the organizationStrong Oral Communication and Presentation Skills are essential when making oral and graphical presentations to capture the interest and involvement of the audience while developing/delivering a clear and concise messageDeep technical understanding of the process and materials involved, as well as keen ability for continuous learning and improvement of existing processesBS in Engineering or Technical discipline

Essential Job Functions:

Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of timeMust be able to travel up to 20% at some timesMust be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language

Desirable Experience:

Three or more years working as a Quality, Reliability or Process/Manufacturing Engineer, especially in the infra-red or semiconductor industrySix-Sigma training and/or certificationLean manufacturing knowledgeIR detector manufacturing experienceIR detector physics understandingQuality systems ISO 9001:2015; ITAR/EAR controlled hardware; IATFProblem solving methodology and failure analysis toolsStatistical process controlMeasurement system analysis (Gauge R&R)Supplier quality developmentOptical and mechanical inspection skillsMS Office applications (must be proficient with Excel)Statistical and reliability software applications – like JMP

Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce

  

Salary Range:

$96,200.00-$128,300.000
