We are recruiting a Quality Engineer for an established engineering company based in Wednesbury.
There is a strong possibility this position can lead to a Quality Manager for the right person.
The main duties will be :
Maintain quality system for ISO 9000-2015 assessment.Good understanding and use of measuring equipmentDeal with day-to-day quality issues, using 8D.Inform staff on quality procedures.Formalize monthly report format covering customer complaints, quality-affected production down time and cost of quality.Ability to read drawingsCarry out full PPAP's for customers (including FMEA, Gauge R+R,)Ability to deal directly with customersProspects to develop to the position of Quality managerOccasionally travel in the UK.Hourly walk rounds of the factory spot checking paperwork and parts
The successful candidate will need the following skills : Be able to demonstrate that they have the confidence to communicate across all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and manufacturers.A proven quality or project engineering background.A logical and methodical approach to problem solving, with a high level of attention to detail.Possess excellent communication skills.Need to be self-motivated and prepared to work on own or as part of a team. Familiarity with 8D and FMEA processes would be advantageous
