Job Title: Quality Engineer

About the Role:

At Lycoming Engines, our Quality Engineers develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure that products are manufactured to the highest standards. This position will equip the candidate with a strong background in quality engineering within the aerospace manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have experience with Six Sigma methodologies, AS9100 standards, and FAA regulatory requirements. A deep understanding of advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Value Stream Mapping is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and FAA regulatory requirements.

· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances and improve product quality.

· Perform internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.

· Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, control plans, and quality reports.

· Utilize advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Value Stream Mapping to optimize processes and improve efficiency.

· Provide training and support to team members on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

· Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

· Support new product development and introduction processes to ensure quality requirements are met from concept to production.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering/quality management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering within regulated industry, preferably aerospace manufacturing.

· Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) is preferred.

· In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and FAA regulatory requirements.

· Proficiency in advanced quality tools such as Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Value Stream Mapping.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

· ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Reliability Engineer, and/or Certified Quality Auditor certification preferred.

· Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
