Job Description

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer role supports quality services and site to plan, direct, and implement Syntegon’s Quality management programs and to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment.

Responsible for supporting the site’s Business Management System (QMS, EMS, OHSMS), writing procedures, processes and instructions. Lead and undertake audits across all areas of the business as well as across the supply chain. Provide training on business management system practices.

Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required through established procedures and processes to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction.

Responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and for speedily resolving them to ensure zero impact to the customer. Support new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds. Work in a team environment to develop and implement best

practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. Manage customer inquiries/complaints and offer technical support.

Quality Engineer works with the team to ensure the quality systems are implemented and are in place at Syntegon. Duties include but are not limited to, the daily collection/evaluation of quality data, development and monitoring of Key performance indicators (KPIs), Development and implementation of system improvements, support of incoming and manufacturing inspection, training for team members on quality processes, help drive, improve, and enforce the quality standards driven by internal and external customers.

Essential Functions:

Maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systemsFacilitate organization and leadership development efforts to address the root cause of quality related issues. Coach management and employees at all levels to ensure compliance with all quality program expectations and applicable federal & state lawsManage key quality processes (i.e., document control, auditing, non-conforming).Support quality systems by collecting and providing information to internal and external customersSupport quality during audits and visits (i.e., internal, customer, 3rd party, registrar, suppliers)Interact with external customers/suppliers on issues such as complaints, improvement plans, documentation, returned material authorization (RMA), etc.Manage customized ERP activities such as generating and maintaining quality defect data, complaint information, etc.Gather, maintain and report facility quality metrics.Support / backup production inspectionSupport calibration activities and gage investigations  Identify and recommend continual improvement opportunities for quality systemsWork within a team environment to complete other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar quality role.Associates Degree in related field

Preferred Requirements:

Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering Bachelor’s degree preferredThe Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification beneficialExternal auditor certification ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 highly desirableFamiliarity with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniquesExcellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and work well with others in order to manage projects, meetingsHave strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people and drive changeExceptional organizational skills with a high consideration to detailMust possess time management skills and have the ability to meet deadlinesWorks well independently and in a group environmentHas the ability to deliver internal training effectivelyHas critical thinking and problem-solving skills but is able to understand the departments overall objectivesMust be able to be entrusted with confidential informationFamiliar with using various office equipment, computers and various programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, networking and cloud-based systems.

The expected compensation range for this position is between C based on a full-time schedule.

Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At Syntegon compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total rewards at Syntegon include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits.
