Job Description
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to divide their duties between Manufacturing Quality System responsibilities and the Supplier Quality Assurance program. The ideal candidate will have experience with International Quality Standards (ISO9001) and AS9100, as well as 3 to 5 years of experience with electro-mechanical manufacturing. The ability to interpret customer specifications and drawings is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and experience with Process/Procedure development is required. The role involves close collaboration with suppliers to ensure compliant products are delivered on schedule, with some travel required for surveys and source inspections at suppliers.
ResponsibilitiesPerform On-site Supplier Qualification surveys.Coordinate the Supplier Self-survey process.Maintain the qualified supplier file & database (ISO certs, etc.).Monitor supplier performance (on time & quality) on a monthly basis.Prepare monthly supplier performance reports (internal – on time & quality).Prepare quarterly supplier quality rating reports & contact suppliers.Monitor for adverse quality trends & report.Review MRR’s & issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests as needed.Follow-up on Supplier Corrective Actions.Work with Receiving Inspection to develop inspection plans and work instructions as required.Coordinate with Engineering, Production & Suppliers on quality-related issues and issues of manufacturability.Coordinate disposition of MRR’s and notification of suppliers.Review Purchase Orders as required to assure customer contractual requirements are flowed-down as appropriate.Visit suppliers to perform source inspections and quality system audits as required.Identify and address potential adverse quality trends with suppliers.Monitor and investigate GIDEP alerts and communicate with customers as required.Investigate field returned product and identify failure mode or coordinate with design engineering as appropriate.Coordinate the return of failed products to suppliers for failure analysis.Conduct internal audits as needed.Perform internal corrective action investigation and follow-up.Other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsKnowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, MIL & IPC Spec requirements.Skilled in the use of all types of precision measuring instruments.Knowledge of the principles and requirements of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.Ability to interpret complex drawings/sketches, as well as a variety of geometric and trigonometric principles.Manual agility.Post-secondary degree in an appropriate scientific discipline or equivalent experience.Good communication skills.Basic math skills.Good computer skills (Word, Outlook, etc.).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with electro-mechanical manufacturing.Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.Experience with Process/Procedure development.ASQ CQE and J-STD-001/IPC-610 certification are preferred.Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite in Horsham, PA, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
