Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team. The focus of this role will be on developing and implementing new and improved inspection techniques across multiple production stages. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to address quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement new and improved inspection techniques on multiple production stages.
+ Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to investigate and address complaints, defective products, and quality problems.
+ Conduct daily 'hands-on' inspection layout responsibilities to assist with in-process, receiving, and final inspection.
+ Coordinate and communicate activities within Quality Assurance and other departments to meet customer on-time-delivery requirements.
+ Engage in customer-facing activities, including non-conformance review, driving root cause analysis, and documenting corrective actions.
+ Analyze complaint data to identify hidden trends and initiate corresponding corrective actions.
+ Evaluate and approve raw materials, in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement verifications and tests.
+ Become an expert on all aspects of gaging, including gage selection, procurement, calibration, maintenance, and training of operators/inspectors.
+ Participate in the development of Control/Inspection Plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
+ Assist in the development of the quality management system and support the company's initiative to obtain ISO9001 certification.
+ Perform audits, both internally and at the supplier level.
+ Assist in identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities.
Essential Skills
+ BS Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with 2+ years of experience, or 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience without a degree.
+ Knowledge of Six Sigma tools.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, statistical trending, and data analysis.
+ Experience with CAPA, Root Cause Analysis (8Ds, 5Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.), Control Plans, and FMEA.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Electronic/Electrical experience.
+ PPAP.
+ Audits.
+ ISO 9001 certifications.
Work Environment
Our facility offers a very clean manufacturing environment with attached office cubicles. This role is fully onsite and requires the ability to lift and handle heavy parts up to 30 lbs. The position involves bending, squatting, kneeling, or climbing a stepladder as necessary. You will spend approximately 65% of your day on the production floor and the remainder at a cubicle. Daily tasks include participating in production meetings, inspecting materials, issuing non-conformance reports, and handling various metal components.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
