Quality Engineer - Beaverton, MI

The Quality Engineer I will be responsible for ensuring products conform to established requirements and standards through appropriate audit, inspection, and test activities. Interacts with multiple cross-functional departments, customers, suppliers, and experts outside of Saint-Gobain to implement Saint-Gobain quality objectives.

Formulates procedures, specifications and standards for Saint-Gobain products and processes. Understands how to investigate and determine root causes for nonconformances, taking that knowledge to develop and implement corrective/preventive action plans. Collects and analyzes data to ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is in compliance with standards and regulations. Will have a basic understanding of ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820 regulations, quality systems, design assurance, FMEA, product testing methods. Previous experience in a clean room environment a plus.

Promotes a safe working environment, complies with proper use of PPE, reports incidents, and participates in functional department safety meetings. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.

Essential Job Functions

Investigate nonconformance’s, determine root cause and create corrective/preventive action plans. Write technical protocols, reports, and procedures. Work with customers/suppliers to ensure needs are met from a quality perspective.  Assist with manufacturing process improvements. Develop inspection methods to analyze product quality.
