Job Description
The FAI Quality Specialist will lead the First Article Inspection project for all programs. This role involves generating AS9102s, verifying build processes, generating product and process audits, and working with Manufacturing Engineering on FMEA and action plans.
ResponsibilitiesGenerate AS9102s with characteristics ranging from 15 to 350 using Net Inspect.Verify the build process to the newly generated AS9102C/S1002 – C919 Inlet, C919 Fan Cowl, and C919 IFS.Generate C919 product and process audits for inspectors.Generate additional in-process inspection steps as required and enter them in SAP.Identify operations where Quality cannot detect defects downstream of the build process.Address high RPN scores from FMEA.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on generating or finalizing FMEA for IFS and Inlet.Work with Manufacturing Engineering on generating action plans for RPN scores above improvement thresholds.Essential SkillsExperience in Quality, FAI, First Article InspectionProficiency in APQP, Root Cause Analysis, and Quality Assurance methodologiesAbility to use calipers and composite material knowledgeExpertise in RCCA, ISHIKAWA, 8D, and the Five WHYsKnowledge of AS 9100, Quality Engineering, and Quality AssuranceExperience with MRO, Failure Analysis, Supplier Quality, Aerospace, DOD, Manufacturing, and Mission AssuranceProficiency as a Quality Technician and Quality Assurance SpecialistAdditional Skills & QualificationsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExperience leading and implementing changeExperience in performing internal and participating in external auditsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skillsAbility to multitask and handle competing priorities effectivelyKnowledge of Quality Management System tools and continuous improvement methodologiesDetail-oriented with strong computer skillsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality leadership roleBachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, or engineering technology field preferredComposite experience is a plusAbility to support on-sitePass background check including education and local/state criminalPass 10 Panel drug testUS CitizenshipWork Environment
The work environment is located in a large manufacturing plant situated right on the water. The facility produces state-of-the-art components for aircraft and airline customers, including Boeing and Airbus. The flagship product is the Nacelle/Thrust Reverser, a large brake system for jet engines.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
