Summary:
Plans and engages in development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and manufactured products by performing the following duties.
Principal Accountabilities:
+ Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
+ Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
+ Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of products.
+ Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
+ Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
+ Evaluates data and writes report to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
+ Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
+ May coordinate with and guide staff engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
+ Participates in troubleshooting of quality and performance issues on the manufacturing floor.
+ Active member of New Product Introduction (NPI) teams with an eye towards validation of quality and performance standards.
+ Participate in Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis during new product introduction.
+ May compile and write training materials.
+ May conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline; Mechanical Engineering major is preferred.
+ CQE is desirable, Master's Degree (MS) is preferred.
+ 2-4 years of related experience, including experience writing equipment test plans and working in a manufacturing environment.
+ Strong mechanical engineering aptitude.
+ Reliability Engineering background a plus.
+ Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
+ Clear communication with fellow colleagues, and in giving presentations.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
+ Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
Physical Demands:
+ Frequently required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.
+ Ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
+ Remaining stationary for extended periods and needs to be mobile enough to navigate through work areas.
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally from time to time; <10%.

Target Annual Pay Rate: $75,000 - $84,000
