Quality Engineer II

Our Client, a Business Manufacturing and Supply company, is looking for a Quality Engineer II for their Corning, NY location. Responsibilities:
+ The primary function of this role is to apply engineering skills to the inspection of metal components used in Client glass manufacturing process.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in welding and fabrication of metal components and systems.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in welding and fabrication of metal components and systems.
+ Demonstrate an understanding of metal preparation and proper welding techniques.
+ Develop and perform quality dimensional and visual inspection of precision components by using various metrology tools and devices to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
+ Understanding of geometric relationships and the impact to those relationships when altering attributes.
+ Collaborate with the designers and workforce to improve the components quality and the efficiencies of fabrication.
+ Support the department’s safety initiatives, apply knowledge of industrial safety standards, and identify health hazards associated with metal fabrication in an industrial setting.
+ Analyze and solve process quality issues using scientific principles and methodology.
+ Communicate in a professional and supportive manner while working with all levels of the organization.
Requirements:
+ A BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
+ 1-3 years’ experience
+ SolidWorks/ CAD proficiency.
+ Thorough, disciplined.
+ Able to interpret technical documentation (e.g. Specifications, design prints, etc.)
+ Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
+ Proficient with MS Office i.e. Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and Project.
+ Requires base knowledge of metals and metal alloys, fabrication techniques, weld inspection, measurement, and metrology systems.
+ Experience with advanced metrology i.e. CMM, vision systems, 3D scanning etc.
+ Understanding of AWS Welding Certification; metal fabrication skills
+ Comprehensive knowledge of weld and material characterization techniques.
+ Manufacturing experience
