Responsible for support, improvement, and deployment of the site Quality Management System (QMS). Coordinate and cooperate with Operations to meet and exceed the goals and aims of the facility measured in published KPIs such as goals and objectives related to product compliance, process stability, capability, and raw material quality. The Quality Engineer III is a subject matter expert on advanced applications of Gage R&R's, Calibration requirements, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, First Article Inspection criteria, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and the handoff to the Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis. Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Risk versus Opportunity, and the advanced principles of Six Sigma Methodologies of SPC and Minitab deployment in a lean manufacturing environment.Job Responsibilities & Requirements
What You Will Do:
Participate in facility efforts to implement and achieve QMS policy and goals.
Teach others how Statistical Process Capabilities (SPC) effectively measures process parameters.
Create time studies that measure lean manufacturing processes.
Visual and Value-Stream Map all areas of opportunity for Kaizen events to reduce downtime and increase 5S+1 Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
Teach others the elements of Risk versus Opportunity through A4, SWAT Analysis, or some form of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) that mitigates identified internal/external risk factors to our customers.
Lead the communication and training of DFMEA through PFMEA, including Risk Priority Numbers (RPN’s).
Learn and navigate our ERP and QMS software platforms. Develop project documentation including specifications, 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, schedules, and presentations to capture and communicate the mechanical design to achieve the defined project goals.
Deploy using software Minitab to determine Cp/Cpk/Ppk. measurables in a process to determine if it stable, repeatable, and reproducible in execution.
Train employees on the QMS and (IMS) Integrated Management System at MiTek.
Create a procedure and technically write documentation for training deployment from an engineering standpoint.
Manage process of in-coming raw material quality.
Maintain documentation of all relevant equipment and processes.
Issue Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA’s) and Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCARs) to track action and progress of quality issues and report back.
Read blueprints and apply fundamental Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) tolerance to parts. Expertise in PTC Creo or wildfire, 3D models and 2D drawings, GD&T, ASME/ANSI standards.
Present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees to the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in electrical, mechanical, systems, industrial engineering or related field required
8+ years of experience in a quality or continuous improvement role in a manufacturing/machine-shop industrial environment required
