Quality Engineer III
Job Title: Quality Engineer IIIJob Description As a Quality Engineer III, you will utilize Six Sigma methodologies to improve the quality output of processes by identifying and removing the causes of defects and minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. You will lead the development of product and process control methods, participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and continuously review and improve corrective and preventive actions. You will also support manufacturing operations, quality trending, and data analysis. Responsibilities + Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process quality by identifying and eliminating defects. + Define, describe, and distinguish between various continuous improvement models, including Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints. + Lead the development of product and process control methods, including reviewing and approving control plans and critical control points. + Lead activities involved in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Product Part Approval Process (PPAP). + Continuously review and improve corrective action processes, including problem identification, failure analysis, root cause analysis, problem correction, recurrent control, and verification of effectiveness. + Participate in Quality Strategic Planning (QSP), Cost of Quality, Measuring Quality, and other measurement activities. + Review and improve preventive action tools, such as error-proofing/poka-yoke and robust design. + Act as the lead quality engineering representative for specific customer accounts, supporting customer inquiries and complaints, leading customer audits, and business reviews. + Manage data collection plans, including check sheets, data coding techniques, and automated data collection. + Participate in ISO 9001, AS9100, and federal and civil regulatory activities. + Support manufacturing operations, including quality trending and data analysis, and oversee containment initiatives. + Support data flow and identification on area continuous improvement boards. + Support kaizen and related continuous improvement activities. + Contribute to team efforts in a collaborative and supportive manner. + Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adhere to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations. Essential Skills + Experience with ISO 9001 + Quality engineering and quality assurance + Aerospace engineering + Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Additional Skills & Qualifications + Under the general direction of the Quality and Compliance Manager, the ability to utilize an advanced set of theories combined with practical applications to maximize the quality of manufactured products. + Experience in handling customer inquiries and complaints, leading customer audits, and supporting business reviews. Work Environment The work environment is a clean facility housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals that produce potential hazards such as ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through engineering controls like machine guarding and administrative controls such as safety policies and programs. In specific areas, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hand protection. Compliance with Job Safety Analysis (JSA) in specific areas is also required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
