Job Description

Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern for our facility located in Wheatland, PA.  Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting the continuous improvement activities at the facility as well as other Quality Department related tasks. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs process audits to determine compliance of processes with internal and external requirements.Verifies accuracy of quality and operations plans.Conducts time studies to identify areas for improvement related to bottlenecks and cycle time optimization.Audits and assesses material stock.Assists in tracking products and coordinating disposition.Researches new technologies to aid in process and product inspections.Manages the gage calibration system for the facility.Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.Performs other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

REQUIREMENTS

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, chemical engineering, material science, metallurgy, or related fieldSound decision making ability, computational, and analytical skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of MS-Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Access (preferred)Ability to coordinate efforts of many individuals internal and external to the organizationAbility to work outsideAbility to travel to Internship Summit, hosted at one of our Zekelman Industries’ locations
