Quality Engineer - Metallurgy

Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus and safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world. We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will design, develop, build and evaluate metallurgical processes and iron castings. **What you will do:** + Provide ownership, support, and advancement of key metallurgical processes in the production of iron castings. + Perform data extraction/analysis, failure analysis and problem solving, application of simulation tools and methods, and practical application of theory and concepts. + Test products, analyze test data, and make modifications to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements. + Build, test, and modify metallurgical processes in the foundry and lab using working models and/or theoretical models. + Perform quality reviews and internal audits; evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. + Monitor engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices; participate in quality improvement initiatives and projects. + Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product. + Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality. **Degree Requirement:** Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Materials Science, Metallurgy, or equivalent program or equivalent experience. **Experience Requirement:** Professional experience in foundry, metallurgy/ met lab, or other manufacturing roles. **Skills you will have:** **Quality Management:** Extensive Experience: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization. **Accuracy and Attention to Detail:** Extensive Experience: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. **Decision Making and Critical Thinking** : Extensive Knowledge: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. **Flexibility and Adaptability:** Extensive Experience: Knowledge of successful approaches and techniques for dealing with change; ability to adapt to a changing environment and be comfortable with change. **Relationship Management:** Extensive Experience: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. **Project Management:** Extensive Experience: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. **Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies:** Extensive Experience: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance. **Additional Information:** • This position is located in Mapleton, IL. • Domestic Relocation is available for this position. • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. **A Closer look into the Mapleton Facility** https://youtu.be/0kKlppm\_nfc **What you will get:** + A commitment to diversity and inclusion.
