The ideal candidate possesses a broad base of experience and a high level of technical depth in working with metals and manufacturing Quality (ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D). The ideal candidate will have a background in Aerospace and defense or in the Semi-Conductor industry. Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer- Semi- Conductor Manufacturer will be actively involved with the eQMS, with the aim of meeting or exceeding quality objectives and improving customer satisfaction. This role is critical in supporting all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environmental, and Continuous Improvement initiatives, and metrics. This includes the ability to work with internal and external customers to support site and corporate values and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data analysis: Proficient in data analysis and the use of statistical tools/software to interpret and act on manufacturing data.Knowledge/experience with quality systems and standards such as ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, ASTM standards is required and a track record of ensuring compliance. Work with them and audit them.Investigate nonconformance reports and coordinate CAPA and continuous improvement actions.Conduct internal audits for systems and processes as per ISO9001:2015 and AS9100D.Methodically prepare detailed documents for all phases of materials development in preparation for shipment to customers.  Develop and update standard operating procedures for Quality Engineer processes. Implement and modify procedures to include processing, quality and equipment improvements.Audit Support for all third-party, customer, and internal audits.Develop and coordinate assigned quality assurance programs on a company-wide basis. Process and maintain the company Quality Engineer manual.Perform RCA from internal/external data to determine root cause and develop root cause with a robust CAPA.May serve as the backup to the Quality ManagerKnowledgeable with eQMS software systemsEstablish raw material and product acceptance criteria.Standardize the calibration of inspection and test equipment.Assist sales personnel with customer or vendor questions or problems regarding product or raw material quality.Review analytical results to determine areas of poor quality.  Assist in the investigation of quality related problems within the company and recommend necessary improvements.Maintain all required records to include analytical submission requirements, analytical results and lot traceability and history and prepare reports for management review.Train and inform company personnel on quality standards and procedures.Keep informed of new technologies or developments in the area of quality.Collaborate with cross functional teams to establish quality metrics and monitor performance.Proven experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing background

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ie. metallurgy, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering degree preferred) and four to five years of experience in a Quality-related role working with metals is required. Required experience includes Auditing, quality theory, project management, and materials science. Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and/or AS9100D.Experience with using SAP and or similar systems is required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS: The individual must be able to perform the following:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific technical journals, required customer quality standards and technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other employees of the organization.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of technical information and data furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.Prefer an ASQ certified Quality Engineer and Six Sigma green/black belt certification (or similar practical experience).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  As this role requires effective communication with other employees and the comprehension of customer specifications and other technical documents, the individual must be very proficient in speaking and writing the English language.

REASONING ABILITY:  Position will require the individual to have informed, decision-making skills based on business and customer needs.  Must be able to take decisive action based on limited input and determine when a decision requires input.
