Product Engineering & Quality Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvements of product, process and manufacturing quality. This includes cultivating a quality-focused culture, utilizing systems and tools, and leveraging competent teams. The Quality Engineer assists the organization in achieving an optimal combination of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, rapid response, and sustainable problem-solving. The role involves collaborating with local functions impacting quality outcomes to meet organizational unit objectives and aim for world-class performance.The work model for the role is: HybridThis role is contributing to the Motion System Drives division.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tSupport Product Lifecycle & Operations: Provide ongoing support to operations throughout the product life cycle and processes for defined product portfolios, ensuring consistent quality standards.•\tManage Quality Issues: Oversee process deviations, non-conformances, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), design changes, complaints, scrap, and change requests for the designated product group. Proactively address and resolve product quality issues.•\tComplaint & Issue Resolution: Review, analyze, and resolve complaints, quality issues, and operational challenges. Provide recommendations and solutions to enhance product quality and operational processes. Collaborate with functional departments to ensure product design and processes meet specifications, including participating in production releases, product safety assessments, and process capability demonstrations.•\tSupplier Quality Management: Serve as the primary contact between ABB and suppliers regarding quality defects and corrective actions. Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and manage corrective actions effectively.Our team dynamics You will join a dynamic and high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in supplier quality and manufacturing.Preferred Knowledge of industrial electric equipment.Strong technical background and Microsoft office is must, SAP and Power BI experience will be a plus, managerial skill is preferred.Demonstrates an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting, and risks.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
