PCC Airfoils – SMP manufactures military and commercial turbine blades and vanes for aircraft and land-based applications using different materials and super alloys composed primarily of nickel and cobalt to cast the blades and vanes for gas turbine engines. SUMMARY

The co-op student will work on projects and will have responsibilities to supplement their knowledge and experience in the Engineering field.   The projects and assignments will become increasingly challenging with each subsequent rotation.  Our goal is to provide an effective learning experience. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility in quality and or manufacturing engineering throughout the co-op experience.Will identify and recommend process improvements in addition to specified projects.Student will conduct statistical analysisWill assist with procedure control and quality planningStudent will be responsible for organizing, communicating and reducing quality issuesStudent will attend regular department meetings, as well as training sessions, symposiums and other appropriate educational opportunitiesWill perform or review systems analysis, testing and documentation for existing processesWill take ownership and responsibility for identified quality engineering projectsParticipate on project teams for assigned projects; analyze improvements and new product or applications and develop requirements and specifications with the teamWork within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate mannerParticipate with peers, project team members and other departments on new material development, testing and implementationOther duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge of related engineering discipline functional and technical skillsProficient with Microsoft Excel and AccessGood writing skills and interpersonal skillsUS Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
