What are we seeking?

We are seeking a Quality Engineering Intern to support the Quality Engineering Team. This position will be based in our New York Mills, Minnesota location and is primarily associated with our Lund and Crestliner brands.

Summary of Position:

This position reports directly to the Quality Manager. The role of Intern Quality Engineer is to develop, deploy, and monitor quality processes while influencing improvement opportunities across the Brunswick Value Streams. The Quality Engineer oversees Verification, Validation, and Non-Conformance systems ensuring compliance to Brunswick drawings, applicable standards and customer value while optimizing the cost of Quality.

Time commitment:

This internship will be a full-time commitment from May to August 2025.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy Built In Quality across the value stream.Develop and implement Quality Plans for new products as part of the HPPD process.Serve as a consultative resource and collaborative partner to both customers and internal suppliers to ensure all needs and expectations are understood and addressedProcess PPAP/FAI submissions to enable timely new product shipmentsHandle tactical quality issues both within the operation and external customers.Review Corrective Action submissions to verify root cause analysis is complete and measures are taken to eliminate future reoccurrenceConduct quality performance analysis and proactively provide insightful information to Operations and Customer Service.Provide quality performance data as required to enable the assessment of past performance, ensure continued efficiency and identify continuous improvement opportunitiesDocument materials rejected due to quality issue to maintain inventory accuracy in MRBInterpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards relative to warranty agreementsWork directly with Operations. Support internal audits against standards and provide analysis and development plans to improve.Handle tactical quality issues (spills, PPAP, etc) to assure containment and RCCA.Manage projects necessary to execute continuous improvement plans in accordance with the commodity strategy, and site Quality Goals.This position may require occasional day and/or overnight travel by auto or airplane, up to 10%.

Internship Projects to include:

Warranty corrective actionsContinuous Improvement projects focusing on Warranty, Supplier Hardware, and Internal Process Controls

Basic Qualifications:

An engineering student with at least 80 credits working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering  Strong organizational skills, good communication skills, and flexible interpersonal skills are requiredBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferredExperience using Solidworks, Draftsight, or similar 3D modeling softwareMust have permanent work authorization in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

The ability to coordinate numerous projects in a professional and ethical mannerPrevious experience in manufacturing setting preferredWorking knowledge of appropriate engineering principles.Must be a self-starter capable of working both independently, as well as part of a teamMust be willing to work more than 40 hours per week periodically to complete the job

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour.  The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
