Quality Incoming Inspections Engineer (Metrology Engineer)

As Quality Incoming Inspections Engineer you are expected to be able to perform assignments independently by applying Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of responsibility to ensure our customers receive the highest possible quality products. This position is responsible for Incoming Inspection activities, interactions with internal customers to ensure parts are inspected in a timely manner in a FDA 21 QSR 820 and ISO 13485 regulated environment. You will need to perform all assigned duties and conduct business in a professional manner.

What You will Do:

Design, generate, implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control protocols, standard operating procedures, and methods for inspecting and processing materials into partially finished or finished products.Provide engineering support for designing and conducting research/technical projects and contributing to the identification of appropriate methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished productsAssist engineering in evaluating and defining requirements for automated manufacturing and testing integrated systems and processesProvide engineering support to manufacturing and conduct the evaluation and disposition of nonconforming product.Spend time on the manufacturing floor to determine process improvements, participate in investigations, root cause analyses, corrective action planning, implementation activities and interfacing with all cross functional departments to increase product quality using recognized Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.Ensure compliance with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements (e.g. Food and Drug Administration, International Organization for Standardization) by reviewing and approving product and quality system changes with Engineering and ManufacturingParticipate in Quality Review Boards, perform data analysis using appropriate statistical tools and techniques to identify trends, develop technical investigation plans, and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures, when necessary.Execute New Product Introduction/Design Transfer activities in characterizing manufacturing processes for parts/components in development to ensure smooth transition from Research & Development to manufacturing, including participation and leadership of the development of equipment and process validation requirements (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, Performance Qualification), using appropriate statistical tools and techniques.May be involved in/lead activities related to the implementation and effectiveness of the equipment calibration program, such as: authoring, revising and maintaining equipment related procedures, work instructions and forms; creating, modifying and calibration requirements; assisting cross-functional engineering groups in investigating equipment non-conformances and out of tolerance results; leading and/or contributing to system and process improvement projects; etc.

What You will have:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 3 years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 1 year of related experience.Ability to prioritize tasks to meet commitments.Knowledge of programming of multi-sensor CMM’s (OGP Zone 3 software a plus).Ability to work independently and manage priorities and workflow in a rapidly changing environment.Ability to understand ASME Y14.5 GD&TAbility to support an environment of changing priorities.Good written and verbal communication.Good organizational skills.

Technical Skillset:

Knowledge of various measurement techniques and systems, including mechanical, electrical, and optical measurements.Skills in calibrating and validating measurement instruments and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.Expertise in precision engineering, which involves designing and maintaining equipment with very tight tolerances.Proficiency in analyzing measurement data and statistical methods to interpret results and assess measurement uncertainty.Familiarity with national and international measurement standards (e.g., ISO, NIST) and compliance requirements.

Process Optimization:Skills: Ability to apply principles of continuous improvement to enhance measurement processes and systems.Innovation: Keeping abreast of new technologies and techniques in metrology to drive innovation and improve measurement practices.

The base pay range for this position is

Min $91,300 - Max $159,800

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
