The Inspection Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Quality Inspection Department. This individual will coordinate, and direct Inspection Staff across several stations to ensure all customer requirements are met safely and productively.Reporting Relationships:
The Inspection Supervisor will report to the Quality Manager.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily task assignments of direct inspection reports as well as supervise and prioritizes tasks as necessary to assure schedule compliance. Maintains inspection staff schedules, vacations, call-offs, etc Cross-trains and flex’s inspection staff to appropriate queues in order maintain schedule, working with Program Managers and others to verify priorities. Manages and oversees all inspections of parts, investigates non-conformances, initiates, implements, and coordinates corrective and preventative actions as appropriate. Lead/teach Lean and Corrective Action processes. Performs Interface with inspection and manufacturing personnel on technical issues, specification requirements, inspection methods and scheduling. Reports schedule and queue statuses to site leadership, daily. Collaborates with Quality Manager to improve inspection processes. May occasionally perform special projects Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, and costs.Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and ability to interpret results to drive corrective action activities.Maintains a working knowledge of customer and industry quality codes and standards.Understanding of calibrated tool requirements and management of calibrated tools system.Understand/use techniques for effective control of delivered quality, cost, and schedule in the manufacture of aerospace machined partsSkill and ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; and develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.Lead a team of inspection staff across multiple inspection stations.Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels.Ability to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those prioritiesAble to manage several differing inspection queues and report status of queues to leadership, daily.Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.5+ years of Aerospace experience2+ years in a leadership role
