Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

Job summary:

Conducts quality inspections and tests to ensure that all parts and assemblies meet or exceed customer requirements, design specifications and company quality standards, dimensionally, in appearance and product reliability.  Maintains calibration schedule on employee and company tools and provides repair assistance as required.  Performs other duties, incidental to the job as assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  

Conducts first part, in process and final inspections of parts/assemblies in process to ensure operator accuracy and traceability documentation is complete – by monitoring dimensions and visual appearance of components per print, router specifications and quality plans.Conducts various quality tests verifying conformance to design and print specifications, using equipment such as calipers, thickness gauge micrometers, height gauge, hand gauges, computer radius gauge, pie tapes, optical comparator, manual CMM and precision hand measuring equipment.Visually inspects parts for any defects including but not limited to blemishes, char, voids and cracks.Maintains quality records as required by the Quality Management System.Conducts incoming receiving inspections as required by the Quality Management System.Requests corrections of routers and prints, initiates NCR’s, MRB’s and CAR’s.Communicates with Engineering and Manufacturing as needed.Participates in problem solving analysis and solutions as requested.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications:  HS Diploma/equivalent

Skills and Experience: 

Previous experience using with basic hand tools: calipers, micrometers, OGP, Manual CMM, Gage pins etc. in the inspection of parts desiredPrevious experience reading blueprints/applying basic shop math required. Basic mechanical skills and computer skills helpful. Close visual attention, reasoning, and judgment are required.
