Quality Inspector (2nd Shift)

The Quality Inspector – Level 2 position will be responsible for inspecting products and perform quality audits including repetitive visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspection. Primarily accountable for testing and sample raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards and devise ordinary gauging or measuring set-ups. In addition, ensure methods and limits are well documented and require limited judgement or interpretation as to quality and finish. This position may be responsible for approving products for distribution; assigning work, and assisting lower level inspectors.

Essential Responsibilities

· Ensure all assigned duties are completed on schedule

· Intermediate drawing interpretations and SPC principles.

· Understand and apply G D and T concepts.

· Perform destructive testing and evaluation.

· Proficient at the various inspection and testing requirements.

· Operate the CMM and basic comprehension of programming.

· Issue Nonconforming Material Tags.

· Evaluate cost and quality standards and carry out statistical quality control.

· Understand TS processes including nonconforming material, identification, and inspection processes.

· May measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards. 

· Assist with capability studies, audits, and gauge R and R as needed.

· Adhere to all Health and Safety, environmental laws, and procedures.

 

Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

· Minimum two years of related experience.

· Previous exposure in conducting audits and machining practices.

· Previous experience with Metrology, SPC, knowledge of measuring techniques, gauging and inspection equipment.

· Capable of all Quality Inspector – Level 1 requirements.

· Intermediate knowledge of SPC and GDT.

· Able to use measuring equipment effectively, including micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.

· Able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings and various procedure manuals.

· CMM operation and basic understanding of programming.

· Basic math skills are desired.

· Able to use computer applications to monitor quality.

· Ability to resolve conflicts and use technical skills to establish reasons for errors in products.
