Summary: The Dimensional Inspector III measures the dimensional features of the forging assuring the product is conforming to the customer part drawings or part models. This is performed using a variety of measuring instruments including, stationary CMMs, portable measuring arms (ROMER) or using micrometers, height gauges, vernier calipers, or inspection fixtures. + Essential Functions: + Always review the assigned job task and consider safety before action. + Follow all company safety policies and procedures. + Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and datum construction. + Measure the forgings per the inspection method sheet (IMS) using the proper precision measuring tools, surface plate, height gauges, and inspection fixtures. + Run, Program and train on either the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or ROMER (Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine). + For nonconforming hardware work with engineers, supervisors, and other dimensional inspectors to determine the best options for salvaging the nonconforming hardware and preventing future nonconformances of the same type.
