The Quality Inspector is responsible inspecting and testing the dimensional, metallurgical and appearance of all parts to meet the plant’s quality goals.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Audit incoming materials, work in progress, and finished parts for adherence to blueprint specifications using precision measuring equipment such as gages, calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Segregate non-conforming material and pieces, providing reasons for rejection Perform dimensional layouts on sample components for approval of supplier tooling, document all findings, and assist with interpretation as required Provide feedback on what is required to bring rejected parts within specifications to production team members Participate in 5S and Lean activities Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Materials team, and Production team to resolve quality issuesFor This Role, You Will Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments such as functional gages, calipers, micrometers, depth gages Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70lbs Ability to do other duties as assigned Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and ability to read blueprints, routings, and measuring equipment Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environmentWORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical shop floor with possible exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, noise, vibration, oil and water. May be exposed to any number of these elements.
