Powell is a manufacturer of switchgear and other electrical equipment. The purpose of the Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector is to primarily act as the calibration inspector. The primary responsibilities include ensuring calibration activities are executed as planned. Four 10s schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm
The purpose of the Quality Assurance Mechanical Inspector is to primarily act as the calibration inspector. The primary responsibilities include ensuring calibration activities are executed as planned.
Additional duties will include maintaining quality graphs and providing any requested output reports on part discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities Perform and/or coordinate equipment and tool calibrations. Maintain and manage calibration records in the database. Manage outside equipment and tool calibrations to optimize turnaround time. Obtain and manage equipment calibration certifications. Maintain an out-of-tolerance nonconformity log and ensure all out-of-tolerance (OTN) reports are available. Create requisitions for any material needed. Ensure work instructions are updated as required.Relationships
Report to Quality Assurance Manager Interact with all departments to achieve mutual, agreeable, and effective problem resolutions. External interface with other Powell Divisions when necessary External relationships involve regular interaction with equipment calibrators, Equipment manufacturers and suppliers. Requirements Basic metrology skills. Basic mathematical skills required. Ability to regularly interact with management and shop personnel. Able to apply product knowledge and technical skills to solve manufacturing discrepancies and achieve product improvements. Computer skills including Oracle, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access SharePoint. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, symbols, and GD&T designations. Able to perform equipment and tool calibrations. Manage outside equipment and tool calibrations to optimize turnaround time. Obtain and manage equipment calibration certifications. Adept at company policies, procedures, safety rules, work instructions, and ISO program. Acquire in-house and external training. Working EnvironmentThe employee typically performs duties in a normal office environment. There will be some work in a shop environment and exposure to the elements of our shop. Additionally, there may be some work performed in the field with exposure to construction sites or active customer facilities.
