Responsibilities About the role Reporting to the Warehouse manager, this role supports MissionOps vision and strategy for MSA. The QI will work with MissionOps, Engineering and other internal functions. The focus will be on plant compliance testing and inspection to support the efficient day to day operations of the plant. These strategies will ensure MSA’s ability to meet its plants demand plans and therefore our customers’ evolving expectations. The role holder will follow global standards, processes and tools to ensure the consistent quality of MSA products throughout their lifecycle, including enabling effective resolution of inquiries related to part quality in a brand new world class facility in Yate What you will do – the role: Incoming inspection and testing of component parts prior to acceptance and allocation for product assembly. Inspection of goods during in house production processes & final assembly pass off Measurement & inspection techniques to verify conformance to established standards. Highlight areas of non-conformance and complete the inspection details form, as applicable. Working in a team environment & interacting at all levels of the business. A key element of this role is to maintain the company’s high standards of quality, ensuring that each and every component not only looks good, but also performs beyond our customers’ expectations. To inspect as received components using dimensional, visual and mechanical testing techniques. Perform in-house product inspection (in process + final inspection) and raise non-conformance notes where applicable. To identify inspection & test status of all product and raise non-conformance notes where applicable and liaising supplier quality engineer and suppliers Communicate at all levels on issues regarding quality issues with the product. To liaise with all identified departments, as required. To ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and that any incident or injury is reported to the Line Manager as soon as possible. To ensure all site practices are maintained at a high level and that standards of cleanliness/tidiness are good at all times. To carry out other specific relevant duties on a periodic basis, as agreed with management, to assist in the efficient running of our business and contribute to the Company’s objectives. Be part off route cause analysis while using lean methods such as 5 whys Qualifications A good eye for detail Able to work under own initiative Experience of production processes Team working strengths Good communication skills Min3 years working within quality department Knowledge of inspection measurement techniques
