Quality Inspector - Level 3
Under general supervision, inspect products and perform quality audits. Test and sample raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards. Responsible for approving products for distribution. Initiate corrective action for procedural, product, or process deficiencies. Analyze reports and returned products and recommend corrective action. Approve final label copy and ensure it meets company and governmental regulations. Provide work leadership and train lower-level inspectors.
Operate CMM and have CMM programming skills.
Assist in the general operation and the day-to-day demands of the Quality Department. Schedule or assign inspection duties.
Able to perform first off inspections, part layouts, receiving inspection, in process inspection, final audits, LPA, and gauge repeatability studies.
Must be able to complete the necessary forms and paperwork.
Ability to make informed decisions in situations of uncertainty.
Issue Nonconforming Material Tags. Understand TS processes including nonconforming material, identification, and inspection processes.
Adhere to all H&S and environmental laws and procedures
Train inspection personnel
Assist Q.E. with Control Plan, FMEA, Flow Diagram development of all products
Assist Q.E. in performance of PPAP
Assist Q.E. with APQP activities during development of new parts and processes

Requirements
At least five years of related experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints. Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals. Read the standards guide/manual to avoid production errors.
Must be able to use measuring equipment effectively, micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges. May measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards. Basic math skills required.
Ability to resolve conflicts and determine reasons for errors in products. Use technical skills and knowledge to identify cause of problems.
Ability to think outside the box to make continuous improvement recommendations to quality management.
Interact with supervisor to co-ordinate work and exchange information during quality meetings. Interact with the production supervision to discuss product quality. Interact with operators to monitor progress and correct work that does not meet quality standards.
Ability to work independently, coordinating jobs with work of others (i.e. operators, supervisors) as needed. Meet with production management, quality management and supervisors every day to discuss quality issues and resolve any related problems.
Ability to perform PPAP layouts. Knowledge and understanding of CMM programming. Must be capable of interpreting/writing programs. Knowledge of TS-16949. Analyze cost/quality standards and carry out statistical quality control. Use computer applications to monitor quality.
Working knowledge of various software programs such as Word / Excel.
Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field. Attend Quality training courses.
CMM Programming; PC Demis, OPEN Demis and Zeiss Calypso programming experience preferred
Can operate GD&T Equipment including Roundness Machine, Contour (Contracer), Gear Analyzer, Optical Comparators, etc.
