Quality Inspector (Internal candidates only)

The Quality Inspector collaborates directly with the quality supervisor to inspect purchased parts and quality documentation to ensure accuracy and satisfaction of Company standards.

Requirements
What you’ll do:
+ Inspect purchased parts, supplier paperwork, test data to industry, Vanguard, and customer standards
+ Perform dimensional, visual, and coupon inspections of PCBs
+ Interpret and utilize sample plans per C=0 Sampling Plan
+ Interpret Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GDT) features per ASME 14.5
+ Use physical and optical measuring tools.
+ Compile, log, and interpret Metric and SAE dimension systems to maintain quality records
+ Work with MRB team and suppliers to resolve non-conforming (materials and/or documentation) errors
+ Communicate with manufacturing, engineers, purchasing agents, and management to solve problems.
+ Drive continuous improvement by looking for improvement opportunities and working projects
+ Provide guidance and training to manufacturing inspectors and perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
+ Algebra and geometry (shop math) skills, high-level critical thinking, attention to detail, and analysis.
+ Ability to define reasoning for decisions and argue opinion when needed.
+ Demonstrated self-motivation, problem solving abilities, team spirit and a “hands on” mentality.
+ Strong understanding of sampling plans
+ Understand use of common and specialized gaging tools such as pin gages, height gages, calipers, micrometers, protractors, multimeters, optical CMM, digital cameras, microscopes, X-Rays, etc.
+ Positive, professional communication skills in person, over the phone, email, internet or in writing
+ Normal color vision
Education and/or Experience
+ High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
+ Strong understanding of non-conforming product/material processes and MRB control
+ Understanding of destructive and non-destructive test methods
+ Training in detection methods for counterfeit materials
+ IPC-600 certification
+ GD&T training
