Interns gain a valuable understanding of real-world projects, tasks, challenges, and opportunities that exist within the industry. This is a paid internship, students normally work from late May to mid-August and are provided with specific, meaningful, and measurable goals.
An entry level position for a high energy, detail oriented and organized individual pursing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical related field of study. This role will focus on projects related to Cost of poor-quality mitigation strategies, quality assurance and product conformance. The Quality Intern will report to the Quality Program Manager to make contributions in support of our service to customers and the company’s Win Strategy. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Essential Functions:
1. Plan, schedule, and coordinate quality functions, such as, authorize to returns, customer rework, nonconformance material reports, and sorting activities.
2. Reviews and interprets product/process drawings, specifications, and other applicable work instructions to determine pass/fail requirements.
3. Identifies quality performance through data trends derived from High Performance Teams. Ensures compliance to specified quality requirements by performing in-house audits and surveys.
4. Prepares reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
5. Participates in failure analysis and corrective action investigations. Develops and coordinates corrective action procedures and plans.
6. Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical areas of production.
7. Assist with internal and external audits.
8. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products and processes.
9. Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and updates as necessary with Engineering oversight.
10. Support Parker’s Zero-Defect Strategy by becoming a subject matter expert in the defect prevention tools utilized (e.g. PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, etc.)
11. Assist with internal division site quality improvement initiatives, as required.
12. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
1. Currently enrolled in, or completed degree in related field, such as: Engineering or Technical field.
2. Candidate shall have completed sophomore year with a overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. Ability to work in person from June 2025 – August 2025 full-time.
4. Ability to work effectively in a variety of environments and assignments.
5. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
8. Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
