Quality Intern
The Quality intern will work with the Quality Manager to improve our daily NCR processes to drive proper RCA and CAPAs as well as updating our incoming inspection criteria. The intern will also execute an efficiency study of our Selective soldering and SMT equipment and be very involved in the documentation support of our Quality System. As the Quality Intern, you will work closely with the Quality Manager to improve our daily Nonconformance Report (NCR) processes, drive effective root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA), and update incoming inspection criteria. You will also execute an efficiency study on our Selective Soldering and SMT equipment while supporting the documentation of our Quality System. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply quality principles in a manufacturing environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Do: + Assist in the daily investigation of critical NCRs from manufacturing or customer returns by analyzing data from our ERP system (IFS) to identify root causes and initiate CAPA measures. + Identify and prioritize components that require updated receiving instructions, defining Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements, inspection methods, and sample sizes on the Wiki platform. + Execute an efficiency study on Selective Soldering and SMT equipment to enhance throughput and overall capability. + Support the creation and updating of ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing process documentation and training materials. + Participate in kaizen events and priority quality projects as time permits. Who You Are: + Current student pursuing an Electronic Engineering Technical Diploma or similar. + Knowledge of quality principles such as root cause analysis, CAPA, 8D, and PPAP methodologies. + Basic knowledge of electronics. + A strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge. + Some manufacturing experience is an asset. + Passionate about your work, with a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully and make an impact. + Demonstrated commitment to integrity and respect in interactions with others, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. + Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of tasks and following through on commitments. + Must be authorized to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
